About the Event
Maker Festival's Month of Making culminates July 9th and 10th for the annual weekend-long Extravaganza.

For one weekend only, over 100 of the city's most creative people and their projects gather together at the Toronto Reference Library to share what they've been working on.

WHY VOLUNTEER?

We are looking for volunteers to help attendees find their way around, support activities, and more. Perks include free Maker Festival swag, hanging out with other awesome like-minded folks, getting to see all the makers, and being fed by the Festival!

And of course, that warm fuzzy experience of helping make this 100% volunteer powered event totally rock.

ROLES

Logistics – Help make stuff happen! This is good for people who like tackling problems, making things organized, and working with others.

Maker Assistance – Help the Makers set up, and stay sorted! Great for people who like helping other people.

Activity Support – Assist activity facilitators with engaging maker-y activities. This is a good role for people who like people, talking & getting crafty.

Outdoor Staff – Help keep the outdoor area ticking along. This is a good role for people who don't mind being outside (in summer).

Front of House – Welcome attendees, provide information, and help control the crowds. This is a good role for people who really like talking to people, love processes, and can act quickly.

Steward – Assist people in navigating through Maker Festival, give directions and provide requested information. This is good for people who love to strike up conversations with strangers who might not know which way to go.

Kids Workshop Support – Help kids make their awesome projects! Experience with kids is a plus, and liking kids is a must. Unless you are used to working with kids, we recommend that you not choose more than one kids workshop shift per day - this position is rewarding but exhausting :-)

Atrium – This year, the Atrium will be filled with an awesome interactive exhibit. This role is perfect for people who are crafty, aren't afraid of technology or learning and teaching new skills, are ready to work on logistical issues, and like pulling big things off.

Soldering – Teach people to solder. You MUST already know how to solder - ideally with several years experience. Instructional experience is also a big plus!

THE PROCESS

1. Click "Join Event", select your shifts, and fill out your details.

2. You'll get a follow up email from us soon with your confirmed shifts, and soon after, information about orientation :-)
