About the Event
You'll play a crucial role in creating a great shopping experience at the Indy Winter Farmers Market, a cornerstone in our mission to provide access to fresh local food and to build empowered community. Our winter market is home to over 65 vendors including, local farmers, artisanal makers, chefs, community based organizations, artists, musicians, bakers, and more. We are the only market in the state to offer a Triple match on SNAP (ebt) dollars, making the market more accessible to everyone. Our weekly by-donation yoga class at 10am at Centerpoint Brewery directly supports our SNAP match and provides a relaxing space for market goers to unwind and breathe. We hope you'll join us as a market volunteer, whether it's once or all season!

Responsibilities include: assist vendors with tear-down if needed, load-out carts and assist with storing tables, help tear-down info table, cafe tables & chairs, trash/recycling cans, market signs, kids area, etc. Support vendors with what they need so the market is clear to close by 1:30pm.

All-Day Market Helper
Thus shift is perfect if you'd like to help with load-in, general market tasks, and load-out. You'll be needed from 7:30am-1:30pm.
Market Ambassador
This role is super important. You'll be trained to support market shoppers who are new to the scene and who may ask for a little extra help navigating the market. Consider yourself a "Market Guide, " providing shoppers with insight and tips to shop smarter. You will likely help with SNAP customers as they check-in, get tokens, and shop. Most of our vendors are able to accept SNAP, but due to SNAP protocol, some cannot. Many SNAP shoppers are savvy in understanding what they are able to buy and what they can't, but for some people the market is a new experience and can seem daunting. This is where you'll come in! You'll walk through the market, pointing out cool vendors to check out and pointing out the SNAP acceptance signs they should look for.
