The Foodbank Doorsteppers promises to take great care with your personal data. We commit to protecting any personal information we obtain about you, whether you are a financial supporter, volunteer or partner.
The Doorsteppers are members of the local community, who have come together to develop and deliver food from borough residents to the borough’s local Foodbank, in response to the COVID19 crisis. We comprise of a small group of individuals with backgrounds in the public & private sectors that include management consultancy, marketing, operations and media.

Our volunteers help us to achieve this in a variety of ways, primarily by:
Leafleting, collecting and fundraising.
Personal information and why we collect it
There are minimum levels of information we need to obtain for different purposes - such as signing up as a volunteer or donating money. We always ask for your name and title We may ask for your house number and postcode so that we hold a valid postal address for you. We might need this information for the following reasons:
Most of the personal information we process currently is directly for one of the following reasons:
• To manage our organisation
• To keep people safe, when engaged in volunteering
• To keep a record of donations made and actions taken by our supporters and our communications with them
• To send our supporters marketing information about our projects, fundraising activities and appeals where we have their consent or are otherwise allowed to
• To record campaigning actions by supporters
• To support community based fundraising and campaigning
• To comply with legal obligations
• To deliver items to you (items you have purchased or event materials for example)
• To process one-off card payments
We are currently collecting information for volunteering ONLY

• Name, home address, phone number, email address, and optionally professional career
If you have agreed to receive post from us, or we believe you may wish to hear from us in this way, we will also use your postcode and address to send you relevant information.

We may need to share limited information with our service providers who help us to prepare and send you our communications or process your donations and other responses. We may use your email address and phone number to match to your account on Facebook or other social media sites in order to show you Doorsteppers content while you are using these services. We will only do this where you have opted in to our marketing emails, personal data is kept secure at all times. We may also use your email address and phone number to link to Facebook or other social media sites in order to identify other users of these sites whom we believe would be interested in our work.

How we store the information we collect
Your information is securely stored.
We will keep your contact details for a maximum of 2 calendar year from May 30th 2020 till May 30th 2022. We will then dispose this information by returning the devices to factory setting and using a specialist firm.
