About the Assignment
GRADS (Group Recreation and Developmental Support) Groups serve school-age youth who are blind or visually impaired to promote the development of friendships and social skills, increase independence, and encourage participation in a variety of community activities. This group, Explorers, meets one Saturday each month during the school year - typically the 3rd Saturday.

During their monthly meetings, participants experience a wide variety of activities including: music, crafts, physical challenges, story time, and exploring.
What You’ll Be Doing
Playing and singing with children age 3 - 6
Working with children with visual impairments and varying abilities
Preparing supplies for activities
Sanitize toys and instruments that are used during the class
Nice to Have
It is preferred that volunteers commit to returning to the class with some frequency throughout the year to help build bonds over the year with children and parents.
