About the Event
On Saturday August 27, 2022 we will be hosting the annual FFL: AIDS 5k Walk & Run Colorado. This event will include live performances, Brunch/Beer Gardens, Volleyball Tournaments (CGVA), 5k Walk/Run, Diva Dash, and more.
Available Roles
Brunch Garden Shift 1
Help set up Beer Garden, greet and assist guests, check IDs, and help maintain the area.
Brunch Garden Shift 2
Help set up Beer Garden, greet and assist guests, check IDs and help maintain the area.
Check Point 1
Transfer supplies from park to checkpoint, set-up, hand out water, motivate and cheer on all walkers and runners, clean up area, return supplies to finish line and cheer on walkers at the finish line. Other duties will be assigned after all walkers have past Check Point 1.
Check Point 2
Transfer supplies from park to checkpoint, set-up, hand out water, motivate and cheer on all walkers and runners, clean up area, return supplies to park, then help pick-up time line banners along the route. Other duties will be assigned after all walkers have past Check Point 2.
Event Set Up Shift 1 (August 26)
Assist with setting up all areas of the park – stage, tables, chairs, supplies, etc.

Finish Line/Timing Company Assistants
Help timing company with finish line duties.
First Aid Shift 1
Assist attendees with any minor injuries. Distribute First Aid supplies when needed. Remain in contact with on-site paramedics and event staff regarding emergencies.

Help staff and Volunteer Captains as needed.

Quilt Shift 1
Help set up quilt panels, maintain respectful environment, provide information about the AIDS Memorial Quilt to attendees.

Radio Base Shift 1
Maintain radio communications among event staff, monitor radio traffic and ensure FCC compliance.

Registration Line monitors (outside tent)
Direct walkers and runners to the proper registration line, assist with filling out forms, answer questions, and ensure efficient and smooth flow at registration.
Registration Tent - Runners
Help setup: Be the first face that participants see on the morning of AIDS Walk Colorado - Welcome attendees to the event, accept donation envelopes and pledge forms, assign runner bib numbers, distribute fundraising incentive awards and runner bags.

Help setup: Be the first face that participants see on the morning of AIDS Walk Colorado - Welcome attendees to the event, accept donation envelopes and pledge forms, distribute fundraising incentive awards.
Runner Bag Drop-Off
Monitor all belongings of runners while they are on the route, then distribute belongings to runners after run is complete (i.e. coat check).
Setup/ Route Monitor
Help with final setup of all areas of park before attendees arrive. Set up Timeline Banners - Ensure the safety of all the participants along the route, motivate and cheer on all walkers and runners, move barricades, maintain road closures, clean up route area following the last walkers. Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
Sponsors/Vendors Shift 1
Help sponsors and vendors set-up their booth, help teams find their tables, and monitor booths throughout the event for trash pick-up, security issues and other needs.

Help sponsors and vendors set-up their booth, help teams find their tables, and monitor booths throughout the event for trash pick-up, security issues and other needs.
Traffic Control Shift 1
Secure the roads into the park, maintain barricades, and assist in directing traffic for morning drive-on for sponsors, vendors, teams and volunteers. This is a very quiet shift that involves a lot of sitting. Reading materials are encouraged.

Venue Strike/Unload
First location: Tear down of all event areas, pack up all supplies, and help load into trucks for transport back to CHN office. Second location: Unload truck at CHN office.
Volunteer Sign-In Shift 1
Welcome and check in volunteers helping throughout the day, distribute volunteer shirts. Assist where needed.
