Troll's Knoll P-Patch & Orchard , 820 N 36th St

About the Event
City Fruit and the Troll's Knoll P-Patchers are planting a new orchard! We started the orchard planning process in late 2022, and with the help of volunteers from Salesforce, have cleared the planting area of debris and sheet-mulched the ground to prepare the soil! On March 2nd, we will have leveled the soil and built up & stabilized a berm at the site to provide a long-lasting source of organic material. At this volunteer event, you'll help us plant the new fruit trees at the site!

Please make sure to bring your mask and we will supply the necessary tools all sanitized and ready to go! And like always, come prepared for rain or shine--dressed in closed toed shoes and clothes you are comfortable getting potentially a little dirty!

City Fruit Volunteer Guidelines for COVID-19

The wellbeing of our volunteers is of the utmost importance, and we only ask you to commit to volunteering if you are safely able to do so.

Are you healthy enough to volunteer?
Based on what the CDC considers high-risk conditions, you should probably not volunteer outside the home if any of these apply to you – for the safety of yourself and everyone around you:
If you currently have a cough, fever, or any respiratory illness
If you currently have a heart condition, lung disease, diabetes, or any other serious health condition,
If you are over the age of 65, older adults and those with chronic health conditions are discouraged from pursuing volunteer events at this time due to vulnerability to COVID-19.
If you or anyone in your household have been in close contact with anyone who is confirmed to have COVID-19

Please stay home if you are feeling under the weather, have had recent contact with anyone demonstrating Covid-19 symptoms, or if you yourself have experienced a dry cough, fever, or other Covid-19 symptoms within the last 14 days.

Thanks for reading this, we look forward to seeing you out there!

City Fruit started because tree owners did not have the avenues to share excess fruit and community members were not aware that they could harvest from public orchards.
