About the Event
Join City Fruit and the McAuliffe Park Team for a harvest and orchard clean-up event! We will be taking a pest-prevention net off of one of the apple trees, harvesting remaining apples, and picking up windfall apples off the orchard floor to mitigate against insect and rodent pests. High quality, pest-free apples will be shared with local area food banks and meal programs. Undersized, buggy apples will go to one of our diversion partners for processing into apple sauce or cider.

Please make sure to bring your mask and we will supply the necessary tools all sanitized and ready to go! And like always, come prepared for rain or shine--dressed in closed toed shoes and clothes you are comfortable getting potentially a little dirty!

City Fruit Volunteer Guidelines for COVID-19

The wellbeing of our volunteers is of the utmost importance, and we only ask you to commit to volunteering if you are safely able to do so.

Are you healthy enough to volunteer?
Based on what the CDC considers high-risk conditions, you should probably not volunteer outside the home if any of these apply to you – for the safety of yourself and everyone around you:
If you currently have a cough, fever, or any respiratory illness
If you currently have a heart condition, lung disease, diabetes, or any other serious health condition,
If you are over the age of 65, older adults and those with chronic health conditions are discouraged from pursuing volunteer events at this time due to vulnerability to COVID-19.
If you or anyone in your household have been in close contact with anyone who is confirmed to have COVID-19

Please stay home if you are feeling under the weather, have had recent contact with anyone demonstrating Covid-19 symptoms, or if you yourself have experienced a dry cough, fever, or other Covid-19 symptoms within the last 14 days.

Thanks for reading this, we look forward to seeing you out there!
