About the Event
Join us for a harvest and orchard clean-up at Danny Woo Community Garden! Please make sure to bring your mask and we will supply the necessary tools all sanitized and ready to go! And like always, come prepared for rain or shine--dressed in closed toed shoes and clothes you are comfortable getting potentially a little dirty!

Due to COVID-19 we will be taking extra precautions and the number of volunteers will be limited to ten. In the case that the event is full, you can reserve your spot on the waiting list by emailing volunteer@cityfruit.org. Please also take a look at our COVID-19 Volunteer guidelines below before signing up.

City Fruit Volunteer Guidelines for COVID-19

The wellbeing of our volunteers is of the utmost importance, and we only ask you to commit to volunteering if you are safely able to do so.

All volunteers must wear masks and gloves and practice six feet of distance from another at all times. We kindly ask that you bring your own mask and gloves. If you do not have access to these, we will have gloves and masks provided. To ensure the safety of our volunteers and staff you will only be able to participate if abiding to this guideline.

Are you healthy enough to volunteer?
Based on what the CDC considers high-risk conditions, you should probably not volunteer outside the home if any of these apply to you – for the safety of yourself and everyone around you:
If you currently have a cough, fever, or any respiratory illness
If you currently have a heart condition, lung disease, diabetes, or any other serious health condition,
If you are over the age of 65, older adults and those with chronic health conditions are discouraged from pursuing volunteer events at this time due to vulnerability to COVID-19.
If you or anyone in your household have been in close contact with anyone who is confirmed to have COVID-19

Please stay home if you are feeling under the weather, have had recent contact with anyone demonstrating Covid-19 symptoms, or if you yourself have experienced a dry cough, fever, or other Covid-19 symptoms within the last 14 days.

What City Fruit is doing to ensure the health and safety of our volunteers?

At all events City Fruit we will be asking ourselves the same questions and more! We will provide hand sanitizer and every tool will have been sanitized and cleaned according to CDC guidelines before and after each event. Each tool will be assigned to only one person for the event. We will be making sure that everyone stays at least six feet apart. The gloves provided will be washed before and immediately after use.

Thanks for reading this, we look forward to seeing you out there!
About City Fruit
City Fruit harvests and stewards urban fruit trees to support sustainable and equitable access to fruit. Urban fruit trees are a valuable community resource. City Fruit started because tree owners did not have the avenues to share excess fruit and community members were not aware that they could harvest from public orchards. We help tree owners grow healthy fruit, provide assistance in harvestishow more
