About the Assignment
A community garden is a group of people coming together to nurture, develop, and sustain a growing space in their community - engaging, educating, building and strengthening community in a significant way. The garden is in the fenced area behind the community centre. Plots are approximately 10 by 12 feet.

Priority is given to Alberta Avenue resident members. If there is space, then associate (non-resident) members from nearby neighbourhoods will be considered. We do not rent plots to people outside of north central Edmonton.

Be willing to volunteer a minimum of 6 hours.
$20 garden fee plus $40 deposit.

The deposit will be returned if you keep the weeds under control in & around your plot, clean up your plot in the fall by the date given, and do a minimum of 6 hours of volunteering. If you plan to return the following year, you can apply your deposit credit to the next garden season.
Application Process
Alberta Avenue resident league members have priority in participating in the community garden. First-time gardeners are limited to one plot. Returning gardeners are limited to two plots.

Returning gardeners have until March 31 to renew their plot.

New applicants from Alberta Avenue will be reviewed and assigned any remaining plots April 1-30.

Non-residents will be considered by the garden committee after May 1st.
